PMI's Certified Associate in Project Management (CAPM) Credential is designed specifically for project team members and is aimed at improving overall project success by helping to ensure project management knowledge.

The certification process involves meeting specific guidelines designed to objectively measure experience, education and professional knowledge. The CAPM Credential Handbook defines the certification process and interested candidates are encouraged to obtain the brochure and become familiar with the process.

The Buffalo Chapter’s current PMP Exam Preparation course, as described on the PMP certification page, can be taken to satisfy the educational component of this credential, even though it is held over more hours than the minimum required (35 versus 24). Additionally, students can receive a copy of Rita Mulcahy’s CAPM Exam Prep study guide rather than the PMP Exam Prep guide.
